FlixBus, a global leader in coach travel, has unveiled a specially designed Welsh-themed coach to celebrate the launch of its new routes between areas of South Wales, Bristol, London and Heathrow/Gatwick Airports.

The eye-catching vehicle is decorated green like its usual fleet, and boasts a state-of-the-art Welsh flag alongside being covered with iconic symbols of Wales such as Yr Wyddfa and Castell Coch.

FlixBus' remarkable coach will be found on routes between Cardiff, alongside other towns and cities such as Swansea, Newport, Bridgend and Port Talbot, with prices starting from as little as £2.99.

The new routes will be delivered by FlixBus' new operator partner Newport Transport, based in South Wales, with more services due to launch later this year.

The travel tech company's sustainable coach network aims to help passengers travel for less, at the same time as airports are increasing fees for parking and car drop-offs.

Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus in the UK, said:

"This summer is the perfect time to be launching our network to more Welsh cities than ever before, and we're delighted to be expanding our offering to offer frequent, affordable airport transfer options for our passengers."

Schorling added:

"We believe travel is for everyone, and our mission is to grow to become the largest coach network in the country in the next five years. From supporting tourism into the UK, staycations and day trips, or affordable options to major airports, we're aiming to be the number one choice for passengers."

Scott Pearson, Managing Director of Newport Transport, added:

"We're very proud of our heritage and we're delighted to be flying the flag for Wales as part of the FlixBus network."

The additional routes mean the FlixBus network now serves over 60 destinations across the UK.

Tickets for the new routes, including those to and from Cardiff, can be purchased at www.flixbus.co.uk or via the FlixBus App.
