Country band The Chicks announce Cardiff Castle date for June

Fresh off the heels of their massively successful U.S. tour last summer, the 13-time GRAMMY award-winning, multi-platinum selling global superstars, The Chicks have recently announced their return to the global stage with The Chicks 2023 World Tour – and it includes a headline date at Cardiff Castle.

The 37-date mega tour kicks off on Tuesday, 20 June in Olso, Norway at Spektrum, with stops throughout the UK and the rest of Europe.

The Chicks are an American country band originally from the state of Texas, and are made of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer.

Since the release of their debut album, Wide Open Spaces in 1998, The Chicks' music has stirred emotions in fans around the world, making them one of the biggest and most influential bands of our time.

Earning universal recognition as the biggest-selling U.S. female band of all time, The Chicks have sold more than 30.5 million albums and have become the only female group to achieve multiple "diamond" selling (ten million copies) releases.

In the Welsh capital, The Chicks will headline at Cardiff Castle on Day Tuesday, June 27 thanks to the team at DEPOT Live.

After nearly 14 years, the American's released their fifth studio album, Gaslighter to rave reviews in July 2020 via Columbia Records.

The 12-track record was co-produced by award-winning singer-songwriter, producer, and close friend of the band, Jack Antonoff.

Upon the news of their world tour, The Chicks said:

"This last year on the road has been a whirlwind for us, but it’s time to bring the party to the UK and Europe.

"We can’t wait to see everyone and play for all our fans across the pond – it’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to get back!"

Joining The Chicks on stage will be GRAMMY award-winning country music sensation, Maren Morris, who is set to support the band for headline dates in Europe, UK, and Canada (including Cardiff).

• Wednesday, June 28 - OVO Hydro, Glasgow
• Friday, June 30 - 3Arena, Dublin
• Sunday, July 2 - Utilita Arena, Birmingham
• Tuesday, July 4 - AO Arena, Manchester
