The UK's leading stag and hen organisers, Last Night of Freedom, has released its definitive list of the most popular European destinations for a stag do in 2023 – and Cardiff is back in the list.
The Welsh capital has been recognised as one of the top 10 locations anywhere in Europe, beating cities such as London, Ibiza, Krakow and Bristol.
Managing Director at Last Night of Freedom, Matt Mavir, said the city's reputation as a party hotspot makes its appearance on the list no surprise:
"Every year, we crunch the numbers to establish where stags and hens are choosing to spend their Last Night of Freedom, and it's great to see Cardiff back in the top 10 list after it dropped out in 2022.
"Cardiff's nightlife has a fantastic reputation and its popularity follows a recent trend which has seen more and more stags and hens remain in the UK for their pre-wedding celebrations.
"There's loads of reasons for that – many of our customers are going green and are turned off by the carbon cost of travel, while lots of people have rediscovered their love of the UK during the Covid lockdowns."
Cardiff's nightlife scene boasts a vast array of party bars, live music, and a host of new activity bars which combine drinks with games such as Ballie Ballerson, Flight Club, Golf Fang, NQ64, Par 59 and Roxy Lanes - which the company say are perfect for a group of stags.
The eclectic mix has seen Cardiff named the eighth best stag do location, according to the data analysed by Last Night of Freedom, with Spain's Benidorm taking the top spot for the very first time.
Mr Mavir added:
"I expect Cardiff to hold on to its spot in the top 10 because it has the perfect blend of nightlife, activities and buzz."
In the list published on the brand's website, it describes Cardiff as having "something for everyone" when it comes to a stag do.
